Valentina Lisitsa plays Rachmaninoff Etude Op 39 #6
It is live and is almost 20 sec shorter then her other version. She played this as an encore during an informal concert for small group of friends at her house.

This Etude is driving through the North Sea 50-foot high waves with Maestro Cziffra driving this Super Tanker Etude through the terrifying waves, the great movement through the High Seas of Pianism, virtuosity and great musical artistry and inspiration. Beware the North Seas !! It can destroy anything unless under the direction of Maestro Cziffra !!

Here is this: "Cziffra became a popular pianist around the late 1950's around the west." "Until the mid-1970's when a more urtext purist came more into fashion." "And Cziffra never played in the UK in 1974." "After the death of his son in 1981, he rarely played in public and never played with the orchestra." "13 years after his son's death, he was next to have his life claimed" Sad but at least his legacy will never die (And he is with his son in heaven)

It is incredible how well Cziffra can play this piece, and few if any of us will ever achieve such a technical capacity. However, Liszt’s piece has almost no emotional effect. The obsession with tricks like this is toxic. Any robot could do the same thing. What is interesting is music that communicates some unique emotional message. Everyone can bring that to the table with some degree of competence, and that’s how we can leave a legacy-by connecting with other people. (That’s not to doubt that Cziffra was quite capable of expressive performances, which he was-and I also don’t mean to criticize the channel owner. I just see some people in the comments saying “I should quit piano” and that’s the wrong thing to get out of this.)

Why so fast? I personnally prefer Trifonov by far, he really lends the piece a character which is unique and interesting and he doesn't just use it to show off his marvelous technique. He of course plays the repetition, which balances the piece much better. ua-cam.com/video/_y73Hy0POFU/v-deo.html
